Rosie the Bread Winner
Rosie wass our main bread winner but has been retired. The work Rosie did helped to support Dove Hollow and the rescue we do. During the year Rosie, Janis and Joyce give people the opportunity to experience the slow pace of yesteryear. A drive in the park gives one the opportunity to observe the wonders of nature, a squirrel chattering in the river oaks, the view of an Osprey nest with young hatchlings in the spring or maybe a glimps of an otter swimming in the river with their family.
Joyce & Bella
This photo is of the first meeting of Joyce and Bella. In April of 2008 Bella joined the farm. She was due to foal and we had no idea when that might happen. The following June at about 10pm Bella's new son arrived. The birth was difficult and resulted in a handsome young man who had a difficult time standing to nurse. After scooting around the foaling stall. With some help we had him on his feet and he soon found the reason for his existance ...MOM...and a name 'Scooter'. He was born with a scrotial hernia and was in surgery at 3 days old. Today he is a strapping young man no worse for his trouble.
